Temple's big upset of city-rival Villanova shook up the top five of the AP Poll this week. Villanova, which succumb to Temple's hot shooting in a 75-65 loss, fell from No. 3 to No. 9.

Kentucky, after a win against UConn this week, moved into the No. 3 spot vacated by Nova. Purdue moves in at No. 4, and Syracuse makes its first appearance in the top five this year after a win against Florida. This comes less than two months after Syracuse lost an exhibition game to Division II Le Moyne. What a turn around for the Orange. They have looked as good as anybody in the nation and certainly deserve this high ranking.

After losing to cross town-rival Xavier in double overtime on Sunday, Cincinnati dropped out of the rankings from No. 19. Texas A&M and Wisconsin also dropped out of the rankings.

New Mexico (No. 19), Texas Tech (No. 20), Kansas State (No. 22) and Mississippi (No. 25) jumped into the rankings this week.
