After a quiet week because of final exams, today was action-packed from start to finish. All but two ranked teams were in action. Here is a quick rundown of what transpired on this busy Saturday.

For all results, check out the NCAA.com scoreboard.

The game of the day was No. 2 Texas versus No. 10 North Carolina. Four Longhorns scored in double figures as Texas notched its first notable win of the year - a 103-90 decision over the defending champs. The star of stars was Damion James. James scored a game-high 25 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and had four steals. J'Covan Brown, Avery Bradley and Dexter Pittman were the other Longhorns to score at least 20 points. Ed Davis led UNC with 21 points and nine rebounds.

In the other matchup of ranked teams, No. 7 Duke easily dispatched No. 15 Gonzaga, 76-41. Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer combined for 44 points for the Blue Devils.

There was no shortage of upsets either. Old Dominion topped No. 11 Georgetown, 61-57. Richmond knocked off No. 13 Florida, 56-53. And, Wichita State edged No. 16 Texas Tech, 85-83.

Two other ranked teams, No. 6 West Virginia and No. 21 Butler, survived on buzzer beaters. West Virginia was able to hold off Cleveland State, 80-78, by going the length of the floor and getting a Da'Sean Butler layup with 1.2 seconds left. Gordon Hayward saved the day for Butler as he made a game winner - ironically also a layup with 1.2 seconds left - against Xavier as the Bulldogs came away with a 69-68 win.

Today was certainly one of the best days of the college hoops season thus far, and today's results will go a long way in shaping the AP Poll when it's released on Monday.
