- Monday was the ninth OT game in D-I championship history, and the sixth time since 2001 that the final game was decided by one goal
- The last team to win the championship after trailing through three quarters was Syracuse in 1989
- Before Monday's loss, Cornell was 12-0 when leading after three this season and had won its last 39
- Syracuse was 0-5 in championship games when trailing at halftime before Monday's win (the Orange's only five losses in finals)
- 1979 marked the last time that teams this close to each other (54.1 miles) played in the championship game
- 'Cuse improves its all-time best NCAA Tournament winning percentage to .763 (58-18)
- Cody Jamieson, after gaining eligibility late in the season, scored eight of his nine goals this year in the Tournament, becoming the fifth different Syracuse player to notch at least two game-winning goals
