A Fitting Fireworks Finale for Huskies 8-0 Game One Victory

  Picture 123.jpgWashington exploded on the scoreboard this evening, claiming an 8-0 win over Florida in game one of the WCWS championship series.

The Huskies' offense was led by Ashley Charters who went 3-for-3 at the plate, with two runs, a home run and two RBIs. Her homer, ninth on the season, came in the top of the sixth, scoring Lauren Greer on the blast.

 

Picture 120.jpgUW pitcher Danielle Lawrie, once again, dominated in the circle. The junior's complete game shutout featured a two-hitter with three walks and 12 strikeouts.

Both teams will face again in game two of the WCWS championship series on Tuesday, June 2, at 7 p.m. CDT.
