December 2008 Archives

Hey everyone.
I'm Emile Ewing and I'm a student-athlete at Auburn University.  This is my senior year, and I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to share with you about the rest of our season.  We recently finished finals and were so thankful for the semester to be over. I am pursuing a double major in Wireless and Electrical engineering and a minor in Business.  So I had 5 pretty tough finals, and am excited for the break from classes for a few weeks.  We stayed in Auburn for 6 days after finals were over to train before heading home yesterday for a week long Christmas break.

We are a combined swimming program at Auburm, therefore the men and women train together most of the time.  Both teams had a very solid week of training and I feel like we made some positive steps forward towards reaching our end of the season goal.  When we get back from home, we leave for Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for a week of training before the spring semester starts. Every year, we go somewhere for a trip right after Christmas, and every 4th year we have the privilege of traveling to a different country (its been the Bahamas the last couple times). That was my freshmen year, so we've been in Florida the last couple years.  Its always a fun time of the season--a transitioning phase in training and a chance for our teams to really learn to come together to get things done.

I'll keep you posted once we get back in Auburn and on the road to Ft. Lauderdale.  Right now, we're al enjoying time at home with our families and friends.  Hope all of you have a blessed holiday season with your family.

War Eagle!!
