March 2009 Archives

Since I've last written the Lady Mocs have had two tournaments.  We had our home tournament, March 2 and 3 and the Peggy Kirk Bell hosted by Rollins the following week.  These two tournaments could have gone better.

We placed second at our tournament and lost to Rollins by two.  The weather played a huge factor in the scores.  Cold weather and gusty winds made the course play extra tough.  We shot 311-315-305.  We made a great comeback considering we were in fourth place after the first, two rounds.  I placed 6th individually and shot 79-81-71.

The very next week we traveled to Winter Park to take on Rollins.  This week wasn't much better for us.  We led after the first two rounds and ended up getting third, what a disappointment.  Nova Southeastern won the tournament with 898, then Rollins at 899, followed by us at 900.  I placed second individually with rounds of 71-74-74.

We are three great teams that are in contention every week, which is why it makes each shot so important.  Our next tournament is Barry's, March 30-31 down in Miami.  We've been working very hard, so hopefully our hard work will pay off and we can get a win.
