It is 6 am San Diego time. Everyone sleeps while I write this
first post, in about three hours we will depart to play our first game of the
weekend. Emmanuel Fraitzl, my roommate, calmly sleeps as he waits to take on
the number 1 or 2 position in the line up against Azusa Pacific. In the
adjoining room two great players lay their heads to rest Andrew Sharnov and
Jakub Fejfar; Andrew Sharnov, a strong New Jersey native with the power and
strength of a Spanish bull resting his strength to unleash it at what looks to
be the third position in today's line up. Next to him Jakub fejfar dreams of
his funky forehand slice tricking out Azusa players left and right. Ales
Svigelj a talented Slovenian player rooms with Sergio "El Nino"
Velez, a speedy Colombian ready to take on any challenge. Max "The Machine
Gun" Wimmer, the tallest in the group rests comfortably as he knows his
big serve is unstoppable against the Azusa returners; and next to him we find
Roman Werschel a strong German with the determination of a Blue Falcon hunting
it's prey, meaning not opportunity is missed by this talented German. Our
assistant coaches Tommy Hipp and Manny Lauter fiercely discuss today's strategy
to ensure the best performance from the BU tennis team, as Coach George
"The Big Shot" Samuel takes care of our tennis and administrative
well being by providing a comfortable trip from the moment we leave Barry to
the moment we step on the tennis court on GAME DAY!
