It's never easy in March

Even though we finished the Big East season as third, which was our highest finish in a while, we knew the tournament wouldn't be easy. It never is! But the two-game bye helped us to prepare for our opponent -- either Providence, West Virginia or DePaul.

We ended up playing DePaul and we had a little added motivation to play them because they gave us our only home loss of the season. Even though we started out slow, we played hard and we fought back. That is the thing I love about this team is that we always stick together and work to get the job done. That was our first game and it definitely wasn't easy, but we got the victory.

Our next game was Louisville in the semifinals. We played them just over a week ago and we knew how hard they would come at us. We had a slow start against them too but we knew what we needed to do to recover. In the second half, we played maybe our best basketball of the season. We came back and put them on their heels for a few minutes. But it came down to the wire and we made critical mistakes and lost the game.

We learned from that game though. We know we can't make those mistakes again. So, we're back in Pittsburgh working hard for NCAAs and waiting to see where we will go. We can't wait to get back on the court!
