This past weekend has been nothing short of eventful. On Saturday, the Sea Gulls were set to face-off against Widener University at 3:00 PM. Usually we'll play at 1:00 PM, however, our Women's Lacrosse Team played during this time slot against Stevenson University. They were victorious by a score of 18-11.
As I walked into The Bagel Bakery with my parents and co-captain Kevin Maynard, a local restaurant for bagels and pastries, I saw my other co-captain Kylor Berkman and former all-american/Major League Lacrosse player Matt Hickman. Upon scanning the seating area again, my eyes glanced toward a male in his early 20's which bared a great resemblance to somone I knew. Much to my amazement, I was staring at my best friend Michael Fishman. During my time at Saint Vincent College, I had sewn a friendship so strong with this man that the term "friend" was deemed insufficient and replaced with "brother." Since I transferred to Salisbury, Fishman and I have seen each other biannually: once before the Spring semester starts and once for the National Championship game. This year, unfortunately, I was unable to make the trip out to Pittsburgh. Fishman was on Spring Break and had conspired with my parents to attend the weekend's contest.
After purchasing some eye black and gold shoe laces for my new maroon and white Nike Super Speed D 3/4 cleats, I brought Fishman along with me to check out the lockerroom. He was able to see the team that he had grown extremely loyal to in its natural habitat. Despite a relatively cool day in Salisbury, we played consistent and were victorious 17-5. During the tailgate, my teammate Michael Winter's sister was taking family pictures for the parents' website. Naturally, my "brother" took his place in the picture and stood in for my sister Shaun.
Following the tailgate, Fishman and I returned to my house with a couple of my teammates to catch up. We watched the first two episodes of Eastbound & Down on HBO On Demand. I highly recommend this series for Danny McBride's hilarious egotistical statements, although I advise that you use discretion when watching because it embraces some questionable themes and supports them with colorful language.
On Sunday, Fishman and I went to brunch at The Commons (Salisbury University's dining hall). Sunday brunch, I believe is widely accepted as the greatest meal of the week on college campuses throughout the United States of America. Fishman and I certainly took advantage of this meal consuming a medley of breakfast entrees. After eating, we said goodbye and he departed with my parents.
Please feel free to leave comments, suggestions, protests, and questions, and I will incorporate them into my posts.
East Bound & Down airs Sundays at 10:30 PM on HBO

Is it difficult to manage your time between academics and athletics?
O'Branski I don't warrant a personal shoutout in any of your blogs...I am appalled and offended.
