NCAA Broadcast Information
The NCAA broadcasting involvement includes network television broadcasts, cable television, radio, satellite radio and Internet presentations of every NCAA championship. The Association oversees the broadcasts of
all 88 NCAA
championships. CBS owns the
domestic broadcast
rights to
66 championships while ESPN has
the rights to 22 championships. All regular-season games, conference tournaments and football bowl game broadcast rights are owned by
the NCAA member colleges, universities
and individual conferences. The NCAA retains exclusive copyright to all video of NCAA
championships. CBS,
CBS College Sports Network and
ESPN
(including ESPN,
ESPN2, ESPNEWS,
ESPN Classic,
ESPNU and ESPN360.com) deliver the excitement of every NCAA championship via television and the Internet. In addition, NCAA Productions
televises and syndicates to selected regional sports networks (e.g. Fox Sports Net and Comcast Sports Net regional networks) several
of
the remaining championships. Twenty five of the 88
NCAA
championships receive some sort of live television coverage. All remaining championships receive coverage on a tape delay or highlight
show basis
(e.g. CBS Sports Presents Championship of the NCAA, NCAA On Campus and the NCAA Year-In-Review shows).
