NCAA Division II National Championships Festivals

The goal of the NCAA Division II National Championships Festival is to enhance the student-athlete collegiate experience and to create more exposure for Division II sports.  

The third Division II Championships Festival was held May 13-17, 2008, in Houston, Texas.  Houston has also been selected as the site for the winter festival in 2009, which will be held March 11-14, 2009.

Each festival features an opening ceremony, social opportunities for student-athletes, community events and a salute dinner for participating teams.  Student-athletes are housed in a centrally located hotel, allowing for an athlete-village type atmosphere

The first NCAA Division II National Championships Festival was conducted in May 2004 in Orlando, Florida, and crowned champions in men's and women's golf, women's lacrosse, softball, and men's and women's tennis.The first championships festival was followed up by a fall festival in November 2006 in Pensacola, Florida.  Champions were crowned in men's and women's cross country, women's field hockey, women's volleyball and men's and women's soccer.
