No. 4 Providence at CSSU Mini Meet

Providence will send 10 competitors to the Central Connecticut State Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn., to compete on Friday.

Seniors Grace Thek, Jackie McCarthy, Elizabeth DeVivo and Molly McCann, along with juniors Julie Solimine, Devyn Pryor and Caile Kohlbrenner will help lead sophomores Katie Powell and Katie Sischo and freshman Keelin Hollowood in a race against 15 other teams.

Last season, the Friars claimed a second-place finish (out of 14 teams) at the meet with 89 points and two top-10 finishers, including McCarthy, who ran the race in a time of 10:37 for a 10th-place finish. Powell, DeVivo, Kohlbrenner, McCann and Pryor all helped the Friars earn a second-place finish at last year's meet.

Providence will withhold its top-seven runners as the team prepares for the Big East Championships that will take place in Kenosha, Wis. on Nov. 2. The team will use the Central Connecticut Meet to help determine the final two runners that will join the top seven at the championships.
