University of Louisville outfielder Stewart Ijames was named Cape Cod Baseball League Player of the Week on Monday after an outstanding week at the plate for the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox.

Ijames, a native of Owensboro, Ky., hit .423 with a home run and eight RBI in seven games for the Red Sox last week. Over the course of those games, he produced a run in all but two, and recorded a hit in all seven.
As a redshirt sophomore for the Cardinals in 2010, Ijames earned Second Team All-BIG EAST Conference honors while hitting .324 with 14 home runs and 64 RBI. In 2008, Ijames earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America honors before missing the 2009 season with a shoulder injury.

The Louisville baseball team, which set a new school record for wins with a 50-14 record overall in 2010, closed the season by advancing to a fourth straight NCAA Regional and winning a second straight BIG EAST Conference regular season championship.
