Top-20 matchup pits GSU powers DSU, West Florida
No. 20 Delta State at No. 11 West Florida
These two perennial Gulf South Conference powers will meet for a three-game non-conference series beginning Feb. 19. Delta State began the season with sweep of Lambuth University last weekend, while UWF enters the series with a 7-1 record, .378 team batting average and 2.61 ERA. The all-time series is tied at 17-17. DSU senior first baseman Kellen Bozeman belted four doubles with eight RBI last weekend after missing the 2010 season due to injury.

No. 22 Chico State at Cal Poly Pomona
California Collegiate Athletic Conference action begins with an interesting matchup as Cal Poly Pomona tests its 6-0 record against perennial West Region power Chico State. The Wildcats, who have advanced to the NCAA Tournament 12 times in the past 15 years, began the season with two convincing wins against Simpson. Under the tutelage of first-year head coach Randy Betten, CPP is batting .337 as a team, and has allowed just 12 walks in 52 innings.

No. 13 Southern Indiana at Fort Hays State/Arkansas Tech
After losing two of three games to Armstrong Atlantic State last weekend, the defending Division II champions will look to bounce back with single games against Ft. Hays State and Arkansas Tech this weekend. FHSU will open its season against USI in the first meeting between the programs, while the Wonder Boys will look to avenge last year’s loss against the Screaming Eagles.
