Finger surgery sidelines Mooneyham

Team USA member, weekend starter led team in Ks last year

STANFORD, Calif. – Stanford Baseball announced on Tuesday that lefthander Brett Mooneyham had season-ending finger surgery.

A junior and two-year weekend starter, Mooneyham cut his left middle finger in January and had surgery last week. He is 9-10 with a 4.67 ERA in 28 starts.

Mooneyham has pitched 154.1 innings with 171 strikeouts and 116 walks. He has held opponents to a .226 average.

He was 3-7 with a 5.07 ERA in 17 starts with a team-high 99 strikeouts last season.

Mooneyham was a member of Team USA this past summer and also pitched in Yarmouth-Dennis of the Cape Cod League.
