Scott tosses no-hitter for B-W
Junior tosses fourth no-no in school history and first since 2005
CHILLICOTHE, Ohio – Junior right-handed pitcher Josh Scott threw a no-hitter as Baldwin-Wallace defeated Ohio Christian 12-0 on Saturday at Veterans Administration Memorial Stadium. The game was shortened to seven innings because of the 10-run rule.
With the win, the Yellow Jackets improved to 5-4 overall.
Scott went seven innings and struck out six without allowing a walk. He improved his season record to 2-0. Scott’s no-hitter was the fourth school history and the first since Aaron Krieger no-hit Ohio Northern in 2005.
The Yellow Jackets struck early as they scored two in the first inning and added another run in the second inning. B-W increased its lead to 8-0 after scoring five runs in the fourth and made it 11-0 after scoring three more runs in the fifth inning. B-W added one more run in the sixth to bring the final score to 12-0.
At the plate, the Yellow Jackets were led by sophomore first baseman Dan Craft and sophomore centerfielder Nolan Neuschaefer as each player had two base hits. Craft went 2 for 3 knocking in two runs batted in and Neuschaefer also went 2 for 3 with a triple, RBI and three runs scored. Senior catcher John Ulanski and sophomore second baseman Keith Blazek each had a hit and knocked in two RBI.
