Aldrich wins 2011 Home Run Derby

OMAHA, Neb. — College of Charleston’s Daniel Aldrich beat Georgia Southern’s Victor Roache in front of 20,578 people at the 2011 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby Saturday at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Neb.  CBS will televise the event nationwide at 2 p.m. ET Sunday.

Aldrich and Roache tallied 10 and four home runs in the first two rounds to advance.  In the final round, all home runs were taken off the board and both players received eight outs per at-bat.  Aldrich opened the final round by hitting four out of the park during his appearance.  With seven outs and no home runs, Roache hit back-to-back homers before his final out of the event.
