NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Chase Brookshire allowed two hits over eight innings as Belmont held on for a 3-2 victory against Oklahoma State in the Nashville Regional on Saturday.

After walking in two runs in the ninth, closer Jon Ivie induced a groundball for the game-ending double play. The win marked the first time Belmont (37-25), playing in its first regional, has won an NCAA tournament game in any sport in 10 tries.

The loss eliminated Oklahoma State (35-25), which dropped 11 of its last 15 to conclude its season.

Brookshire (6-4) was perfect entering the fifth inning. He struck out six and walked one, and left in the ninth with two runners on and no outs.

Nate Woods hit a solo homer in the first, and Matt Zeblo hit a two-run single in the third.

Oklahoma State’s Brad Propst (7-6) allowed three runs on five hits, striking out a career-high 11 with one walk.
