Jacksonville eliminates Manhattan
Walker helps Dolphins stay alive in Gainesville Regional
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Adam Brett Walker had three hits and drove in two runs, helping Jacksonville beat Manhattan 5-4 in the Gainesville Regional on Saturday.
Walker, who broke the school’s single-season record for hits and total bases, had an RBI double in the first and a run-scoring single in the seventh as the Dolphins (37-23) eliminated the Jaspers (34-19) from the NCAA tournament. Jacksonville advanced to play the loser of Saturday’s game between Florida and Miami.
Steve Eagerton (9-0) allowed nine hits and two runs in seven innings for the victory. Eric Luksis (7-4) gave up four runs in 5 1-3 innings for Manhattan.
Manhattan loaded the bases with one out in the ninth, but former closer Chris Kaminski struck out two of the final three batters for his first save this season.
