Georgia Southern outfielder Victor Roache suffered a broken wrist on Saturday and may miss significant time. Roache tweeted early Sunday morning, “left wrist and lookin like the rest of the season.”

Roache, who led college baseball with 30 home runs last season, was injured in the second inning of game two of a doubleheader against Radford. Georgia Southern swept the twinbill with 7-6 victories in both games.

Roache was 3-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored in game one as the Eagles (5-1) scored three times in the bottom of the ninth for the come-from-behind win. He walked in his only plate appearance in game two.

Through six games, Roache is batting .412 with two home runs and five RBI.

College Baseball Daily listed Roache, a junior, as the No. 5 prospect in its preseason rankings. A native of Ypsilanti, Mich., Roache was selected in the 25th round by the Detroit Tigers in the 2009 MLB Draft but decided to attend Georgia Southern.

Roache’s 30 home runs in 2011 were the most in college baseball since New Mexico State’s Billy Becher hit 33 in 2003.
