Streaking Vanderbilt takes over as new No. 1; North Carolina slips to No. 2
DALLAS, Texas -- North Carolina, which had been No. 1 for 10 consecutive weeks after Arkansas was preseason No. 1, was nudged out of the top spot for the first time in the 2013 regular season this week by Vanderbilt (39-6).

The Tar Heels, Commodores and Razorbacks have been the only three schools to hold the No. 1 position throughout the season.
Vanderbilt, winners in 20 of its past 22 games, jumped three spots to claim the top position from North Carolina. The Tar Heels have lost two of their past four games, including losses to in-state rivals UNC-Wilmington and NC State this week.
North Carolina fell to No. 2 in front of No. 3 Cal State Fullerton, No. 4 LSU and No. 5 Oregon State.
Virginia fell out of the top five to No. 7 while South Carolina slipped out of the top 10 to No. 11.
Meanwhile, NC State moved up three spots to No. 10 and South Alabama cracked the list at No. 30.
