UCLA overcomes four-run deficit to defeat Cal Poly in Los Angeles Regional
LOS ANGELES -- UCLA rallied from a four-run deficit to beat Cal Poly 6-4 on Saturday in the Los Angeles Regional.
The Bruins (41-17) scored four times in the sixth inning and twice more in the seventh to complete their comeback.
Cal Poly starter Matt Imhof didn't allow a hit until Pat Gallagher led off the sixth with a double. Mustangs right fielder Nick Torres lost Kevin Williams' fly ball in the lights with two outs and the bases loaded, allowing three runs to score and tie the game at four.
Eric Filia's RBI single and Pat Valaika's bases-loaded walk gave the Bruins a 6-4 lead in the seventh.
Nick Vander Tuig (11-4) captured the win for UCLA and Reed Reilly (2-4) took the loss. David Berg earned his 20th save.
