The top remains the same. But the reshuffling underneath shows many teams with a legitimate chance of knocking off the defending champions and making a trip to Salem for themselves.

UW-Stevens Point is No. 1 in the 2010-11 men’s preseason D3hoops.com Top 25, released Thursday morning.

The Pointers, who return four of five starters but lose guard Matt Moses, received 21 of the 25 first-place votes. No. 2 Randolph-Macon, which returns every starter and key contributor from last year’s Final Four team, picked up two first-place votes.

Fellow ODAC member Eastern Mennonite is No. 3, after returning five starters from a team that made the Elite 8 last season. Illinois Wesleyan, which lost at UW-Stevens Point in the Elite Eight round, is No. 4 with two first-place votes, while CCIW rival Carthage is No. 5 after returning four starters from a Sweet 16 team.
