Iowa State's Phillips to transfer
Cyclones' junior averaged 2.5 points in eight games this season

AMES, Iowa -- Iowa State guard DeMarcus Phillips has decided to transfer.
Coach Fred Hoiberg announced Phillips’ decision on Tuesday.
Phillips, a junior from Milwaukee, played in eight games this season, averaging 2.5 points. He was in his first season at Iowa State after playing the last two seasons at Marshalltown Community College.
"DeMarcus informed us of his decision to transfer today," Hoiberg said. "We appreciate everything DeMarcus did for our program and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
Phillips averaged 9.6 minutes per game.
"I have decided to leave Iowa State and transfer to another school," Phillips said. "I want to thank the Iowa State coaching staff for all of their help and guidance during my time in Ames."
