STORRS, Conn. — UConn coach Jim Calhoun will miss the No. 14 Huskies’ game against Marquette on Thursday night in Hartford.

Calhoun, who will also miss practice on Wednesday afternoon in Storrs, will attend a memorial service in Nashua, N.H., for his sister-in-law, Eileen McDevitt Fucile, who passed away on Monday.

Associate George Blaney will coach UConn (20-6, 8-6 Big East) vs. the Golden Eagles (16-11, 7-7).

The school’s announcement of Calhoun’s plans came a day after he was suspended by the NCAA for three games next season for recruiting violations committed under his watch. The program, however, dodged a major sanction when it was spared a postseason ban.
