Centenary ends 33-game losing streak

Centenary, the last winless team in Division I, ended its 33-game losing streak Thursday night with a 73-60 victory against Western Illinois.

The Gentlemen (1-28) were within one loss of the tying the Division I record losing streak set by Sacramento State from 1997-99.

Maxx Nakwaasah had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Centenary, which last won on Feb. 6, 2010, beating IPFW 80-78. Western Illinois (7-21) has lost 11 consecutive games.
