Iowa St. dismisses Godfrey from team
Forward averaged 5.7 points, 5.4 rebounds in freshman season
DES MOINES, Iowa -- Iowa State forward Calvin Godfrey has been dismissed from the team after the school says he was arrested for marijuana possession.
Godfrey averaged 5.7 points and 5.4 rebounds in a promising freshman season in 2010-11.
But Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg says in a statement that Godfrey violated team rules on multiple occasions and that his weekend arrest was the final straw.
Godfrey was suspended for three Big 12 games in February for violating unspecified team policies.
Godfrey, a 6-foot-8 forward from Milwaukee, scored 23 points with 11 rebounds in a late-season win over Colorado.
