NEW CONCORD, OHIO, February 7, 2009 - The Muskingum College men's basketball team upset the 8th-ranked Capital University Crusaders 72-60 in OAC play Saturday.

With the victory, Muskingum improves to 10-11 overall and 7-7 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. The Crusaders fall to 18-3 overall and 11-3 in conference play with the loss.

Muskingum was led by senior guard Trevor Scott, who finished the night with a game-high 19 points. Senior forward Tyler Felt added to Muskingum's offense with 12 points and six rebounds. Senior guard Pat Byrne and junior guard Cory Bourquin both added 12-point, 4-rebound efforts for the Muskies.

Capital was paced offensively by Nate Stahl's 19-point, six-rebound game. Quintin Mitchell came off the bench to post 10 points and 7 rebounds for the Crusaders.

The first frame ended in a tie, 28-28, as Bourquin hit a three-pointer to even the score with 31 seconds remaining.

In the second half, Muskingum jumped out to an 11-point lead, 57-46, after going on a 10-0 run at the 8:05 mark. The Muskies would keep the pressure on Capital and built their lead to as much as 12 points with 1:10 left on the clock. Muskingum sealed the 72-60 victory with free throws down the stretch and never let Capital get closer than 8 points in the final minutes.

Muskingum returns to action next when it travels to OAC foe Marietta College on Wednesday, February 11. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m.
