With just over five minutes left in the nationally televised WVIAC game between West Liberty State and Wheeling Jesuit on Saturday, the teams were locked at 70-70. By the time the final buzzer sounded, West Liberty had surged ahead, going on a 23-10 run over the final five to take the win.

Ben Howlett led the way for the Hilltoppers (21-6, 16-4 WVIAC) with 25 points, as Mike Mathey and Shane Maynard chipped in with 20 and 17 points, respectively. For Wheeling Jesuit (12-15, 10-10), who was plagued by 36 percent shooting in the second half, Kyle Higgins (20 points) and Maqsood Harringon (17) led in scoring.
