WARRENSBURG, MO - The Patriots were defeated by the Southwest Baptist University Bearcats on Sunday evening, 74-68. The Patriots finish their NCAA Division II Championship Tournament run in the South Central Regional Semi-Final to end their season 24-7.

The Bearcats started quick off the tip as they jumped to an early 11 point lead over the Patriots, but DBU fought back with tight defense and sharp shooting to creep back within three by halftime. The Patriots trailed the Southwest Baptist Bearcats 31-28 heading into the locker room.

Junior Eddie Gloviak led the Patriot charge in the first half with six points, and went on to finish the game with 14 points and two rebounds.

Freshman Jordan McGowen scored seven points and had three rebounds in the first half, and added another 13 points in the second to finish and lead the Patriot offense with 18 points and grabbed a team high seven rebounds.

Junior Bryan Baumann scored three points and grabbed four big rebounds in the first half, and added 10 more points in the second to end with 13 points and five rebounds in the loss. Senior Shelby Lewis finished with four points, 10 assists and three rebounds.

Sophomore Braxton Adamson ended the first half with nine points and two rebounds. He finished out the game with 12 points and had six rebounds.

The second half was hard fought by both teams, but the Patriots were not able to break through the Bearcat defense and could not get any closer than two points from the lead.

The Patriots were defeated by the Bearcats 74-68 in an intense game that went down to the wire. The Patriots end their season 24-7 for the year after receiving their first NCAA Division II Championship Tournament birth in school history.
