ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Illinois Wesleyan led late but led Washington U. in St. Louis force overtime, where the Bears escaped with an 83-75 victory on Saturday. It was the 12th-ranked Titans' second loss in three games after falling to the University of Chicago on Dec. 4.

IWU led 56-49 with 7:17 to play, but the Bears caught fire, tying the game at 68-68 on Alan Aboona's 3-pointer at the buzzer. Washington U. scored first in the extra session and outscored IWU 15-7 in the overtime.

The Titans got 29 points from senior Sean Johnson and senior Doug Sexauer scored 19 points and grabbed a game-high seven rebounds.

IWU, which led 31-30 at halftime, hit 42.4 percentage from the field (25-of-59) and connected on nine 3-pointers. Washington U. got 21 points each from Spencer Gay and Dylan Richter.
