Air Force relieves Reynolds of duties

Coach compiled 63-82 record in five seasons at helm of Falcons

Jeff Reynolds was fired as Air Force's head coach on Wednesday after racking up a 63-82 overall record over five years.

AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — Air Force has fired Jeff Reynolds as men’s basketball coach after five seasons.

The school announced the decision on Wednesday. 

Assistant coach Dave Pilipovich will step in as the interim coach.

Under the 55-year-old Reynolds, the Falcons are 11-10 this season with a 1-6 mark in the Mountain West Conference. The Falcons suffered their worst home loss ever Jan. 31 when they lost to New Mexico 81-42.

Reynolds has a 63-82 overall record at Air Force and owns a 145-116 career mark in eight seasons as a head coach.
