Panthers rally from 18-point deficit to knock off Indianapolis
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Kentucky Wesleyan fought back from 18 down in the first half to take a 18-point lead to defeat Indianapolis 91-77 in the second round of the NCAA tournament on Sunday night.
Brandon Johnson fueled the Panthers runs with 14 of his game-high 20 points in the first half. He also had a game-best nine rebounds to go along with six assists.
Travis Johnston came off the bench to connect on back-to-back 3-pointers to extend the Panthers lead from six to 12 and put an end to the Greyhounds comeback bid with 3:26 left.
Anthony Young also posted a game-high 20 points while Cardell McFarland added 13 points and six assists. Marseilles Stewart and Cornbread Walker chipped in 13 points apiece. Stewart and Young also grabbed seven rebound each for the Panthers.
