EMMITSBURG, Md. — Mount St. Mary’s is introducing Jamion Christian as its new men’s basketball coach.

Christian spoke at a news conference Tuesday at the campus in Emmitsburg.

He is a 2004 graduate of the Mount, and a former team captain.

Prior to returning to his alma mater, Christian was on the men’s basketball staff at Emory & Henry, Bucknell, William and Mary and Virginia Commonwealth.

As an assistant coach at Virginia Commonwealth, he helped guide the Rams this season to the third round of the NCAA Tournament.

Christian succeeds Robert Burke, who resigned March 5.
