While Butler grabbed headlines in its last few seasons playing in the Horizon League, one of the biggest stories from last season was the emergence of Valparaiso's Ryan Broekhoff. The native of Australia was named the league's player of the year and even was invited to the tryouts with the national team where he lasted until the final 12-man cut.

If you're 7-foot-1 and playing college basketball, there aren't many who can guard you -- just ask Green Bay's Alec Brown. He's on his way to breaking some school records, having pulled down 425 rebounds in his first two seasons -- something no one at Green Bay had done since becoming a Division I program. Brown finished 10th in the nation last season with 3.0 blocks per game.

It was huge news when Detroit head coach Ray McCallum landed his son Ray McCallum Jr. The Titans reaped the rewards last season when the then-sophomore helped the school back to its first NCAA tournament since 1999. Now in his junior season, McCallum looks to improve upon an already impressive assist to turnover ration from last year -- 143:80.
