Jamaal Franklin was named Mountain West Player of the Year last season to become the second Aztec player to earn the honor. He was the first sophomore to earn the honor since Utah’s Andrew Bogut was named the league’s player of the year in 2005. Franklin led the MWC in scoring while finishing fourth in rebounding.

Mike Moser’s first season after transferring from UCLA was tremendous. He was one of only two players in the nation to have more than one game with at least 20 rebounds during the year, while his total of 369 rebounds ranked fourth in UNLV single-season history. Moser was second in the league and tied for 21st in the nation with 15 double-double games.

Kendall Williams ended his sophomore year with 816 points and 283 assists, putting him on pace to become first Lobo to finish top 10 in scoring and top five in assists in a career. Williams was named to the 2012 Cousy Watch List, one of 65 candidates for the award.
