MAHWAH, N.J. -- Ramapo clinched the regular season NJAC championship Monday, with a 74-64 victory against the Ospreys of Richard Stockton. 

Behind 18 points and 18 rebounds from senior Elgin Brown, Ramapo improves to 21-3 overall and 15-2 in the conference. Senior Stephon Treadwell had 10 points earning his 1,000th career point in the win.

Brown went 7-12 from the field and 4-6 from the charity stripe, as the team sank a combined 25-51 (49%).  Will Sanborn collected 17 points and Anthony LoRusso chipped in 12, while Garret Thiel added 11 of his own.  Thiel dished out a team leading six assists and Sanborn added five of his own.

The Ospreys opened the game with two free throws from Jesse Hunt, and LoRusso responded with a jump shot to tie the game at two, before the Roadrunners spent the next five minutes working their way to a double-digit advantage, 15-5, with 13:39 on the clock.  Just 18 seconds later, Stockton's Darnell McCargo, sparked a 7-0 run, to put the Ospreys within three points, 12-15.  Rameel Johnson capped off the run with just over 11 minutes on the clock.  A jump shot from Treadwell at 8:35, would give Ramapo a 23-17 lead, but a mini 6-0 run from Stockton, sparked by three-pointer from Rich Suhr , would put the Ospreys within three points, 22-25, with 6:27 to play. 

LoRusso capped off a 5-0 Ramapo run, to put the Roadrunners up 30-22 (6:11), before the Ospreys again responded connecting four points to come within four, 26-30, with 5:36 to play.  Ramapo spent the next three minutes working to their biggest lead of the half, 12, after Keith Benthall drained a three-point goal to go up, 40-28. The Roadrunners finished the half on top, 42-32, as they shot a combined 16-28 (57 percent).  Elgin Brown sunk a team-high nine points and Treadwell collected eight.  Brown pulled down a team-high eight rebounds. Johnson led the Ospreys with seven first-half points and McCargo dished out three assists, as the team went 9-26 (35 percent) in the half.

The two teams traded baskets at the start of the second half, until two free throws from LoRusso put the Roadrunners up, 48-36 with 15:06 left to play.  Josh Blamon nailed a three-point goal with 13:53 on the clock to close the gap, 41-50, but Brown responded with a two-point goal of his own to put Ramapo up, 52-41, 12 seconds later.  The Roadrunners jumped ahead by 12 points, 55-43, with 11:36 on the clock, and again at 10:22, when a deep three from Thiel put the Roadrunners up, 58-46.  A free throw and a jump shot from Kevin Johnson closed the gap to 49-58, but a slam dunk from Sanborn gave the Roadrunners an 11-point, 60-49, advantage with 9:26 to play. The Ospreys responded with a 7-1 run to come within five, 56-61, with 6:13 to play. Hunt sparked the run with a jump shot and Blamon capped it off with two baskets from the charity stripe.

Less than two minutes later, Treadwell sank his 10th point of the game, which goes down as his 1,000th career point, to put the Roadrunners up, 65-58 with 4:40 to go. Stockton would come within seven with 3:52 on the clock, after Blamon hit a jump shot, but that was the closest they would come as Ramapo pushed back to a double-digit lead

Sanborn led the way with 10 points and Brown chipped in nine, as the team went 9-23 (39 percent) from the floor.  Blamon led the Ospreys with 11 points shooting 4-9 from the floor. The team hit a combined 13-37 (35 percent).

Blamon led the Ospreys hitting 5-12 for 16 points and McCargo finished the night with 11 points of his own.  Nnamdi Usuwa hit 5-10 from the floor collecting ten points.  Usuwa pulled down a team-high ten rebounds.
