South Dakota State head coach T.J. Otzelberger is in his first year at the helm for the Jackrabbits, and he’s taking an energetic approach with his team.

Loose ball drills aren’t usually a favorite among college basketball players, but when the head coach is getting down on the hardwood himself, it’s much easier to be enthused. See below:

Floor burns for days. South Dakota State went 26-8 last season and made the NCAA tournament; it reached the dance three of the last five years under former coach Scott Nagy. Team comradery was a big reason why, and Otzelberger is doing everything in his power to continue that mindset.

Joe Boozell has been a college basketball writer for NCAA.com since 2015. His work has also appeared in Bleacher Report, FOXSports.com and NBA.com. Joe’s claim to fame since joining NCAA.com: he’s predicted the correct national championship game twice… and picked the wrong winner both times. Growing up, Joe squared off against both Anthony Davis and Frank Kaminsky in the Chicagoland basketball scene. You can imagine how that went.
