CARY, N.C. – The Kay Yow Cancer Fund™, in partnership with The V Foundation and the Womens Basketball Coaches Association, held its third annual 4Kay® Golf Classic presented by Nike on September 12-13, 2010, at Barton Creek Resort & Spa in Austin, Texas.
Over 150 womens basketball coaches, administrators and supporters of the Fund participated in the Pairings Party and the golf outing, which raised over $171,000 for womens cancer research.
What an exciting time we had in Austin for the 4Kay Golf Classic presented by Nike,” said Marsha Sharp, Executive Director of the Fund. One of Coach Yows reasons behind starting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund was the idea of uniting coaches for a common cause. It is great to see our coaches and supporters remaining passionate in the quest to find a cure for cancer.”
The 4Kay Golf Classic Pairings Party took place on Sunday, Sept. 12, with a live charity auction and a silent auction raising additional monies for the event. Thanks to items donated from various organizations, over $40,000 was raised through both the live and silent auctions. Raffle tickets for a Cybex Pink Treadmill were also sold for $100 apiece.
