MIAMI SHORES, Fla.—The Barry Buccaneers shot down 13th-ranked Franklin Pierce, 67-49, in the Cruzin’ Classic Women’s Basketball Tournament at the Health & Sports Center Saturday night.

The Bucs (5-3) blistered the nets by hitting 61.5 percent (16-for-26) from the field in the first half, including nailing 6-for-12 from 3-point range. Barry led by as much as 22 points in the period before taking a 39-26 lead into the intermission.

In the second half, the Bucs pushed the advantage to 19 points, 49-30, on a jumper by Yvonne Houston with 13:09 left to play before the Ravens (9-3) rolled off 12 consecutive points over the next 6:15. The spurt trimmed the lead to 49-42 on a 3-pointer from Brittany Martelle with 6:53 remaining.
