ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Carmen Reynolds scored 11 of her 18 points in the final 4 1/2 minutes to help Michigan hand No. 24 Boston College its first loss of the season with a 68-55 victory Wednesday night.
Rachel Sheffer scored 19 points to lead Michigan (7-5), but it was Reynolds who sparked the Wolverines down the stretch. The junior guard hit three consecutive 3-pointers after missing her first five attempts from beyond the arc.
Carolyn Swords led Boston College (11-1) with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Michigan led 53-49 after Reynolds’ 3-pointer with 4:28 remaining, giving the Wolverines their biggest lead to that point. Jaclyn Thoman responded with a 3 for Boston College, cutting the lead back to 1.
But Reynolds helped close out the Eagles with back-to-back 3-pointers.
Michigan led 33-31 at halftime after the lead switched hands eight times in the first 20 minutes.
