Dixie State blows past Chaminade
Carlson just misses triple-double, ties school blocks record

SAINT GEORGE, Utah -- Five Red Storm players scored in double figures as No. 11-ranked Dixie State rolled to a 99-44 win against Chaminade on Saturday night in the Burns Arena.
The Red Storm (16-1, 6-0 PacWest) held Chaminade (1-12. 1-5 PacWest) scoreless for the first five minutes of the game and built a 25-2 lead with 10:34 remaining.
Breann Hill scored 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds; Johnna Brown added 20 points and nine rebounds. Erica Carlson was the star that shined the brightest with 11 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists and tied a school record with eight blocked shots. Rachel Gines added a career high 12 points and Sheila Adams chipped in 10 points.
The Red Storm never trailed in the game and shot 52.3 percent from the field and won the battle of the boards 48-34.
The stingy DSC defense forced 26 turnovers and held CUH to a 24.1 percent shooting performance from the field.
The Red Storm bench earned valuable minutes and outscored the Silverswords 29-16. No Red Storm player played more than 22 minutes in the game.
For the fourth time in the young DII school history, the Red Storm just missed hitting the century mark in a game. They have reached the mark only one time in 2008 at the College of Saint Mary.
For Chaminade, Jamie Higa scored 11 points and Markeshia Manning grabbed seven rebounds.
