UW-Whitewater, ranked number one in Division III polls, remained undefeated with an 86-74 win over Loras College in Kachel Gym in Williams Center Saturday night.

Loras jumped out in front and led by as many as thirteen points, 22-9 at 12:54, 24-11 at 12:12, and still had a double figure lead as late as 30-19 with 8:58 remaining int he first half.   UW-W finally tied the game at 36-36 with 1:45 left on a free throw by #Dana Thompson#, and Thompson's jumper with 0:38 left gave UW-W a 38-36 lead.  The Warhawks never trailed the rest of the way.

Loras was still within three, 49-46 with 13:26 left, but a 13-6 bulge by UW-W made it 62-52 with 8:33.  The Warhawks maintained their double digit lead most of the remaining minutes, with Loras pulling within eight twice.

Warhawk center Tiffany Morton led both teams with 29 points, hitting 10-16 shots from the floor.  #Kelsey Hendrickson# added 13, and #Meghan Schmidt# and Thompson contributed a dozen each.  Morton also chipped in with a team high seven rebounds, and Schmidt had a game high six assists.  

Loras had three double figure scorers, led by Alex Hudson's 21.  Lindsay Bava scored 19 and Sarah Pillon 13.  Hudson led both teams with eight rebounds.

Loras is 3-2.

UW-Whitewater will open Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play Saturday December 6 at UW-Stevens Point.  The next home game for the Warhawks will be Tuesday, Decemnber 9 at 7:00 with Wheaton College visiting Kachel Gym in Williams Center.
