CARY, N.C. (AP) -H undreds of friends, fans and colleagues of Kay Yow are remembering the longtime North Carolina State women's basketball coach at a funeral of her own design.

Yow died last weekend after a two-decade fight against cancer. At her funeral Friday, Colonial Baptist Church pastor Stephen Davey said Yow hand-picked almost every element of the service.

Davey said Yow "wanted one final chance to challenge and impact all of our lives."

Among the many mourners are UConn coach Geno Auriemma, Tennessee coach Pat Summit and Texas coach Gale Goestenkors, as well as N.C. State football coach Tom O'Brien and N.C. State alumnus and former NFL coach Bill Cowher.

Yow will be buried Saturday in her hometown of Gibsonville.
