BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team breezed to an 80-51 win over Ohio Wesleyan in the opening round of the NCAA Division III tournament at the Shirk Center on Friday, March 6, and will host Wis.-Eau Claire on Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Titans are 28-0 and got 17 points from senior Mallory Heydorn while junior Christina Solari added 13, senior Claire Sheehan had 12 and sophomore Sarah Cotner came off the bench for 11 points. The Titans led by a 39-28 halftime score and outscored the Battling Bishops (17-12) by a 41-23 score in the second half, shooting 62 percent (18 of 29) from the field in the final period.

Illinois Wesleyan held a commanding 46-29 edge on the boards, led by Solari's seven, and committed 21 turnovers while forcing 20.

Wisconsin-Eau Claire (24-5) was a 62-50 winner over DePauw in the first game of the night. Hannah Mesick had 18 points and Heidi Arciszewski added 15 for the No. 9-ranked Blugolds.
