NEW YORK (AP) -Connecticut forward Maya Moore, the Big East's top player the last two seasons, is the coaches' choice as the league's preseason player of the year. The Huskies were predicted to win their fourth straight conference championship Thursday.

Moore, The Associated Press player of the year last season, averaged 19.3 points and 8.9 rebounds to guide Connecticut to a 39-0 record and sixth national championship. She is joined as a unanimous selection on the all-conference team by teammate Tina Charles.

With its entire team back, Notre Dame was chosen to finish second in the preseason poll. DePaul and Louisville, which lost to UConn in the national championship game last season, were tied for third.
