West Chester upsets Holy Family
Golden Rams went on 14-3 second half run to seal victory
PHILADELPHIA -- Allison Hostetter scored a career-high 24 points, and Alex Lennon posted 15 points and four blocked shots to lead West Chester to an 84-70 victory against Holy Family in a non-league women’s basketball contest Tuesday night.
West Chester moved its season-opening win streak to four consecutive with the win.
Jillian Keefer added 18 points of her own. She was 3-for-4 from 3-point range and 5 of 6 from the free throw line. Meghan Kerrigan dished out a career-best seven assists.
With the Golden Rams clinging to a 70-67 lead, West Chester went on a 14-3 run the final 4:23 of the contest to put the game away. The Rams went 4-for-5 from the line down the stretch to keep the Tigers at bay.
The Golden Rams shot 50 percent from the foul line (34-for-68) and 45.5 percent from behind the 3-point arc (5 of 11).
