WHITEWATER, Wis. — Four players scored in double figures during No. 7 Wisconsin-Stevens Point’s 71-50 rout of Wisconsin-Whitewater on Wednesday evening.
The Pointers came out of the gates with a 23-2 run through the first 10:34 of the first half, and carried that momentum into halftime with a 38-18 lead.
UW-Whitewhater opened the second half with a 7-1 run through the first 4:20, but the Warhawks could not keep pace, as the Pointers held them to just 32.7 percent from the field for the game.
The Pointers connected on 50 percent of their 3-point attempts. Cassie Brandow and Brooke Allen shot 3-4 from behind the arc. Brandow finished with 13 points and Allen added 11. Sam Barber led the Pointers in scoring with 17 points on 10-12 shooting from the field. Alyssa Olp chipped in with 10 points.
Emily Bestor was the only player to score in double-digits for the Warhawks on the evening, scoring 17.
