No. 18 Ashland blasts Cedarville

Daugherty earns double-double for Eagles 19 points, 14 boards

CEDARVILLE, Ohio – No. 15 Ashland won its 12th consecutive game, 89-69 against Cedarville, this ties a program record.

The Eagles never trailed during the game. Ashland scored the game’s first 13 points and led, 13-0 with 17:16 left in the first half.  Ashley Dorner scored eight points in the first half.

Ashland shot 60 percent (20-33) from the floor in the first half and buried 8-14 3-pointers. AU ended the game with 10 triples, five from Jena Stutzman

The Eagles were ahead, 54-35 at halftime. AU’s largest lead — 27 points, came with 4:14 remaining in the game.

Kari Daugherty notched her seventh double-double of the season with 19 points and 14 rebounds. 

Lindsay Tenyak hit for 18 points. She was 4-5 from 3-point range. Tenyak is shooting a team-best 46 percent (27-58) from 3-point range this season.

Stutzman had 17 points and Dorner finished with 14 points and six boards.  Alyssa Miller had six assists.

Kara Cayton paced Cedarville with 12 points and  Kayla Jenerette added 10 points.
