UNC-Pembroke downs USC-Aiken
Washington scores 14 points, adds five steals to lead Braves
PEMBROKE, N.C. -- North Carolina-Pembroke was able to end No. 11 South Carolina-Aiken’s school-record 12-game winning streak in a 52-46 Peach Belt Conference victory against the Pacers on Wednesday.
The Pacers finished the loss to UNC Pembroke shooting 30 percent (17-56). UNC Pembroke shot 35 percent (17-48) from the field.
Two Pacers finished in double figures with Daniela Tarailo leading the way with a game-high 16, including four 3-pointers.

Kayla Harris finished the game with 10 points. She just missed on a double-double as she also corralled nine rebounds. Harris had two of USC-Aiken’s six blocks.
USC-Aiken’s Brittany Hill had five steals.
UNC-Pembroke also had two players in double figures with Domonique Washington leading the Braves with 14 points and six rebounds. She also had five steals.
DeDe Cotton finished with 11 points.
The Pacers were down by as many as 11 at 18-7 with 10:50 to go in the first half.
USC-Aiken then went on an 11-2 run during the next eight and a half minutes to pull within two at 20-18. UNC-Pembroke closed the half on a 4-0 run to take a six-point lead into halftime.
In the second half, UNC-Pembroke (7-8, 4-3 PBC) would once again go ahead by as many as 11 at 45-34 with 6:17 remaining.
The Pacers would not go down without a fight though as they pulled to within one at 47-46, after a Lindsay Sundberg 3-pointer with 49 seconds left in the game.
